In this video we go over how to pour a easy beginner concrete shed slab. we go take you from start to finish on this job of how we accomplished a 8 x 10 shed slab.. Build your shed on a concrete slab. in other words if you are building an 812 shed then build an 812 slab. this way the siding will be able to hang over the side of the slab an inch to prevent water from seeping under the bottom plate and into your shed.. Whether you are building a small shed base or a large driveway this calculator will give you the the volume of hardcore and concrete required..
The main problem with trying to frame a shed on an existing concrete slab is trying to set the sill plate. the actual framing follows a standard process, the only exception being that you may have to toe-nail to attach the studs.. I will be building a shed myself (sometime down the road) and cant seem to find foundation/base details for my situation: i have a 4-car driveway and plan on putting the shed at the end - it's the best space for it (unused space) and the foundation is already pavement. the downside is that the driveway is not level.. Building it on asphalt shouldn't be a big issue. you can drive anchors thru the asphalt into the earth to secure the shed. leveling the surface shouldn't be that hard either, as long as it isn't too far off..
