Rabbits will shed in different ways. some rabbits will take a couple of weeks or more to loose their old coat of fur. other rabbits will be ready to get rid of their old coats all in one day and these rabbits are the ones that cannot be neglected once they start shedding.. Maybe you need to feed it more vitamins, or healthier food. also rabbits shed every 3 months. this might just be another shedding routine. if you have the fur in the cage, you want to get out as much as possible, so it doesn't eat it.. I wouldnt worry too much, my bunny boo is a very short haired polish and she had a full body molt only a few weeks ago. althought it seemed to happen in stages at first i could pull big clumps out her butt and she developed these weird cartoon eyebrows..
Rabbits can become spoiled and have a tendency to eat the foods with the most dense nutrition first. if they are getting too many foods with too much nutrition, such as fruit, treats or pellets, they will not be hungry for their hay. rabbit's diets should be 85-90 percent hay, so this is very bad.. It is strange, eve just doesnt shed too much, except for this time of year. her fur is very sleek and sheds a very little bit. we havent had huge problems with shedding, although, the people where i work probably think i am a weirdo because i often come in with rabbit hair all over my black pants!. A professional furrier will store your coat in a fur vault. this dark, 45-degree, 50-percent-humidity, insect-free environment will keep your fur from drying out and shedding. if you want your fur coat to remain thick and lustrous for years to come, protect your investment..
